On Monday, 12th May, Westfield A faced Highfield B in the Wellingborough League Challenge Cup Final. The Westfield team consisted of Kevin Bird and brothers Adam and Bart Koszyk. The Highfield team featured sisters Meera and Janvi Katwa, along with Jaisal Patel. Kevin got the team off to a strong start and played consistently throughout the evening. All the Highfield players found his service game difficult to read and return. Bart started nervously, but once he found his rhythm, he played the table tennis we know he is capable of. Adam was also a slow starter, but he stepped up his game after the first match. The final result was a comfortable win for Westfield, but credit goes to both teams, as the match was played in good spirit, with everyone enjoying the experience. From a coaching perspective, it was pleasing to see that all five juniors who played on Monday have attended Westfield Coaching Sessions. It's satisfying to know that the club has contributed to their development. Here's a picture of all the finalists (not sure what Bart was doing!).
