Several players from Westfiled competed in the recent Schools Competition. Here's how they got on.
U11 Girls
Sophia Goodley (who trains with us on a Monday) had a really close game in the Girl's final and was unlucky to lose out in a close-fought five-ender. Although disappointed with the outcome, I'm sure the expereince will help her progress quickly and make her hungry for more.

Matty and Sebby Stevenson (who also trains with us on a Monday) were Club memebrs who competed in this age category. Matty played well, but had a tough group that contained the No. 1 seed. Seb was in the other group and played very well to reach the final, only losing to the top seed as well. Well done Seb on reaching the final.

U13 Boys
Bart Koszyk cruised into the final, but another title was not to be. His opponent was too consistent, and paired with Bart's limited preparation, it was well played but a step too far.

Nathan Siu and top seed Tor West-Ley were Club members in this age category. Nathan played well in patches, but his lack of matchplay meant he missed out on crucial phases in the match. More matchplay will certainly sharpen up his game. Tor put in a dominant display to lift the title. His route to the final was untroubled and a comfortable victory in the final saw him crowned County Chamption - well done!

Like his younger brother Bart Koszyk, Adam had a fairly straighforward route to the final. And like his brother, his opponents better rallying was the difference. Both brothers have good TT fundementals, but improvement in consistency is needed to progress to the next level.
